NHL Gamers (Western Conf.)
Welcome to the game worn section. All these jerseys have been worn on the ice in National Hockey League play. The current focus of my collection is to get at least one jersey from each NHL team. I proudly stand at 27 of 30(I need Carolina, Minnesota and Pittsburgh to reach that goal). A lot of my jerseys reflect a personal attachment, I would rather have a jersey from a player that I have seen play in the ECHL, AHL or NHL and few have heard of than a jersey from a well known player that I've never seen in action.

WARNING TO COLLECTORS: Especially the die hard purists of the hobby. Some of my game worn jerseys have been autographed! I do this when I actually meet the player and it means more to me than loss of re-sale value.

NHL Jerseys:
Western Conference:

Anahiem Mighty Ducks...
Rucchin-3rd Rucchin3rd
Steve Rucchin #20 2003-04 3rd jersey with C. As silly as the Quackers jerseys are I think they have the classiest alternates, complete with the tie down. This was also the first post 1993 Captain's jersey I got to add to my collection.

Ward-Road Ward-Road Neck-Rip PHOTOMATCH
Lance Ward #4 2003-04 Road jersey. These are by far, some of the dumbest jerseys out there. But with Disney selling the team off I figured these will be a defunct style real soon and decided to get one of each style, otherwise I would triple deke past any of these things! And as we all know now they have dropped the Mighty and have possibly come up with worse jerseys, although I never would have believed it. The third pic here is of a tear in the neck, Lance had just one fight during the time he wore this sweater and if you check out the fourth pic I think you should be able to call that a photomatch!

Moen-Front Moen-Back
Travis Moen #32 2005-06 Home. This is the last jersey I needed to get to have all three styles of the now defunct Mighty Ducks. This jersey has light wear but it is from a guy who I really liked seeing play for the AHL Norfolk Admirals. He's now a steady 4th liner for the Ducks and if he needs to he can throw the cuffs pretty well too.

Calgary Flames...
Kipper-Red Kipper-Red Neck-Pilling PHOTOMATCH
Wallpaper Photomatch
Mikka Kiprousoff #34 2003-04 Home. When Calgary switched to these beautiful red sweaters I had to have one. I decided to pick a goalie jersey and it wound up being a smart call. The Flames run to the finals was awesome and Kipper rose to the challenge, talk about smart use of a draft pick to make a trade! This was my first photomatched jersey and it was by accident. I was on the bandwagon for the Flames and had downloaded a Windows wallpaper from their website, when the jersey arrived, BAM! An awesome match to a puck mark near the gap of the 'C', I also picked up a second photomatch too (see pic 4 and link to wallpaper).

Chicago Blackhawks...
Downey-Alt Downey-Alt Beefed-Up
Aaron Downey #44 Alt, 2001-02. The reason I got such a good deal on this form Hawk Quarters was that they are not sure when this one was worn. It has a small amount of game use and a super re-enforced neck. Downey was a favorite here on the Hampton Roads/Norfolk teams and a Calder Cup winner. Next I really want the classic white Hawks Sweater.

Colorado Avalanche...
Avs-Keane Avs-Keane Beat-up
Mike Keane #12 2002-03 Home. This one is kind of special because Mike wore it in the last game that Patrick Roy ever played, game 7 of the infamous Minnesota series. The Keane/Roy connection goes farther than that as well. Mike won the Cup with Patrick and the Habs and then was part of the trade that sent Roy to Denver. Keane won the Cup the next year as a member of the Stars and then went back to Colorado. A well worn jersey from a Stanley Cup winning journeyman.

Columbus Blue Jackets...
Zinger-Alt Zinger-Alt
Brian Holzinger #19 2003-04 Alt. Am I the only one who is baffled by the fact that teams with bad jerseys can come up with great alternates? The silly "bug" logo for Columbus is about as dumb as the Duck, thank goodness they only have it as a shoulder patch, these beauties are another story. Great design incorporating the Ohio state flag and embracing the fighting soldier known as the "Blue Jacket" rather than a Raid commercial reject. Complete with the lace up collar this one has very light wear but is a beauty from a beauty player.

Dallas Stars...
Downey-Stars Downey-Stars
Aaron Downey #47 2002-03 Home. Another jersey from one of my favorite players, believe me it's the only way to make it tolerable to have a Dallas jersey in my house. Light wear on this but with a possible blood stain on the left shoulder. In case you hadn't seen the bottom of one of my web sites pages yet...
IT WAS NO GOAL!!!!!

Detroit Red Wings...
Briss-Front Upsidedown-19 Hockeytown-Stamp
Patrice Brisson #61 1999-2003 Red pre-season. It has a bit of wear and the Hockeytown stamp on it. I picked this number because I know I will never have a #19 Wings jersey so I settled for an upside down one, that's as close as I'll ever get. There is some light wear on this one.

Edmonton Oilers...
Salo-Oilers Salo-Oilers Salo-Crest Crest-Match PHOTOMATCH PHOTOMATCH Salo-Set-Tag
Tommy Salo #35 2003-04 Away w/25th patch. A great jersey from a great goalie that left the NHL behind. This one has some nice goalie use which yielded three nice photomatches. In the first closeup pic you get a good look at the small mark on the left side of the crest near the top. In the second match pic you can see the mark on the right side of the crest near the 'S' of Oilers and the mark to the right of the collar. And in the third pic you get a nice shot of the really dark mark on the sleeve and the one to the left of the 25th patch as well as another look at the right side collar mark. I really have become fond of this one because of all the great matches and the fact Tommy has hung up the NHL pads and is now only playing in Europe.

Oil-Front Repair-Question
Edmonton Oilers CenterIce practice jersey. Just a nice, plain practice jersey from the Oil. It has some marks which are hard to see on this dark sweater but an interesting 'question mark' shaped repair (Pic 2). There just wasn't enough mojo between this and my Salo jersey to puch the Oil past the 'Canes for the Cup.

Los Angeles Kings...
Passy-Kings Passy-Kings Set-Tag Passy-blood
Steve Passmore #31 2000-01 Home. This is a sweater from one of my favorite goalies. Steve always made the Don Cherry videos even if he saw limited time between the pipes. When he was sent down to Norfolk, I really believe it was to get that team of rookies in line. I sit close to the glass and never heard a goalie chirp at his defense like Passy did, I think he had a real effect on the way those kids turned around that year. He spent a couple of seasons in the German league and a short time under Coach Wayne in Phoenix, but eventually went back across the pond. He's a great guy to watch play and to meet.

Los Angeles Kings (Old Style)...
Old-Kings-Gold
This is a practice jersey from the Purple and Gold days of the Kings (Did you know that at the time the P&G Kings were the only NHL team with home and away pants?). It has a screened on logo and a bit of wear. Finances are such that I can safely say this is the best I can do as far as P&G Kings for a while.

Minnesota Wild...
Soon I'll sell a car and be able to afford one of this teams jerseys!

Nashville Predators...
Lasak-Preds Lasak-Preds Signed
Jan Lasak #35 2002-03 Home. This has a remarkable one game of use to it. Jan was called up to Nashville and played about three games that season, but only one at home. A 5-2 loss to Philly. Jan was the Rookie and Goalie of the year in the ECHL in the final season before the Hampton Roads Admirals became the AHL Norfolk Admirals. I managed to catch up with him when the Milwaukee Admirals visited the Norfolk Admirals two seasons ago and had him sign this for me. He's a great kid and a great goalie and I think he'll be a real star someday.

Phoenix Coyotes (Old Style)...
Old-Kilger Old-Kilger Goals-For-Kids
Chad Kilger #18 1997-98 Road w/GFK patch. A nice jersey from a good guy, I love this style of 'Yotes sweater. The funny thing about this one is that I have had it in the collection for about three plus years now and never noticed the Goals for Kids patch until I was taking the pictures for this website. Actually this undertaking has brought several things to light about my collection but I digress. Minimal wear on this one but still a beauty.

White-Yotes Gill-back
Todd Gill #23 1999-00 Road w/GFK & NHL2000 patches. This sweater was GAME ISSUED but I got a super sweet deal on it form DHC that I could not pass up. I have wanted to get the white version of this original style 'Yotes but never came across a deal I liked enough. Now I have both styles and even if this isn't a "gamer" I like having it.

Phoenix Coyotes (New Style)...
Maybe after another year of hockey these will be easier to get!

San Jose Sharks...
Boyes-Front Yeah-Boyes
Brad Boyes #24 2003-04 Home. From what I understand this is Brad's pre-season jersey. It has minimal wear but it is finally nice to have a Sharks sweater in the collection. Brad had a heck of a year in 05-06 playing for the Bruins.

St. Louis Blues...
Nickulas-Dark Nickulas-Dark
Eric Nikulas # TC/Pre. I needed a Blues jersey in my quest for every team in the league and this one popped up on the radar. Eric spent a season with the AHL Norfolk Admirals and I hoped he would be back the next year so I could get him to sign this one, but he went elsewhere and the window has now closed. It has typical light training camp use.

Vancouver Canucks...
Ruutu-White Ruutu-White
Jarco Ruutu # Away 3rd/PO. I was watching a 'Nucks game and saw Ruutu in a brawl that left him bloodied and in the penalty box. Vancouver must work hard at getting the blood out because I really can't see it here. It has some nice stick marks on it though and I hope to photomatch it real soon.
