The Guy Room: My Hockey Heaven
Here is the room of the house that is the true centerpiece. It's The Guy Room. it started out pretty modestly and as the years have past has gotten to the point where I need to do some pretty clever arrangement to get additional things on the wall. My first vein was the autographed pictures. I amassed a fairly impressive lot (more than 70 auto'd pics) in just a couple of years. I've gotten personalized sigs from some real legends: Gordie Howe, Mark Messier, Rogie Vachon, "Teeder" Kennedy, Grant Fuhr and others. As well as some great new players: Marion Goborik, Rick Nash, Marc-Andre Fluery, Kari Leihtonen, and many more. A couple of years ago my focus went to the game worn jersey. I have since fed that addiction like crazy. I have over 75 game worn jerseys and am trying to reach my first self-imposed goal of at least one jersey form each current NHL team. I am close now with 80% of the teams as of August 2007. I want to have all 30 by the end of 2007. The other big highlight of the Guy Room is the Chexx (Bubble Hockey) game. It is the original version with the blue base and is always ready for tournments when folks come to the house. So take a little tour of my Hockey Hall Of Fame.

Personal Note: I love my collection, it's a pleasure and a passion for me. I even find amazement in some of the items I have, but the best part of it is seeing the faces of the people that walk into the room for the first time. It makes the time and money I have invested in this hobby worth it.

ADS-Wall
This is the Admirals wall also known to the folks in Section 11 as "The Shrine" there are a few practice jerseys here from both the ECHL and the AHL admirals as well as 8 Admirals gamers from either the AHL or ECHL. The rest of the wall is takem up by various knick-knacks from the past few seasons, auto'd pics-pucks & cards and pics I actually took myself from the penalty box (a long story how I got there) way too much to list here.

CHEXX-Wall
This is the Bubble Hockey game I had the graphics customized so it says MIKXX CHEXX. At the bottom you'll see our "video crack" also know as the Merit Megatouch XL6000 (with upgrade), it has since been moved to another room because having people playing that and the Chexx game at the same time got quite hectic. My favorite things on this wall are the picture of me with Lord Stanley and the 1980 USA Olympic Hockey Team celebration photo signed by all the players and their coach; the late Herb Brooks. OK, the Bobby Orr is pretty cool too!

Goalie-Wall
This wall (actually a wall section) has some nice signed photos from some great goalies as well as a rack with 10 game used goalie jerseys (The Roy is NOT a gamer). No matter how good any of these guys are, my favorite picture is the autographed one of my Dad in goal for the Buffalo Fire Department team...to me that is absolutely priceless.

SABRES!!
This is the Sabre wall. All the pics here are current and former Sabres and there is also a team signed jersey form Hasek's last season in the Buff (90-91). Some key things here are the Wilkinson Sword that was given to season ticket holders for the Sabres innagural season in 1970. There are also some classic old photos from 71-74 that were in the Courier Express newspaper each year before the teams annual fashion show (Yes they really did have those and no Johhny didn't wiggle his D**k at them) but the significant thing is that my Mom is in all of them (The one in goal with the Roman sandels is the best). She was the president of the Booster club in those years and being in these little articles/plugs was a perk. My G-ma is even in a couple of them too.

Main-Wall
This is the wall that greets you when you walk in the room. It has some of the best auto'd pictures in my collection including Messier and Howe. The two things I like most about this wall are the giant Sabre logo that was custom made by my Dad (only 4 in exsistance) and the picture of me on the ice together with my childhood hero Johnny "Pie" McKenzie. Man I need a bigger house!

JERSEYS!!!
This is the jersey wall. It has grown a lot in the past couple of years (and I even need to update this picture). I lucked out at a closeout sale at a clothing store and got all my racks to hang my gamers on. This hobby is so much fun and I am just happy that I am able to be a part of it.

History Archive:
Below are some pictures of the Guy Room at various stages in it's life. It certainly has changed...

JERSEYS!!!
This is what the jersey wall looked like at the shin-dig we had the last time they played an NHL All Star Game. (In Minnesota in FEB 2003)
